Emailed ovendoorglue as the hob glass had come loose from the cooker (glass sits in a recess and is glued in place). Cleaning one day and the glass slid out. Sent photos. Between us we decided the glue should work so I bought 2 tubes. Nicely packaged. Set about cleaning off the old glue with the tools provided. Cleaned the glass. Then wiped the edge of the glass and the recess with the wipe. Used one tube to lay a bead of glue in the recess. Inserted glass hob and weighted down. Used the second tube to seal the edge of the glass hob to the cooker to make for easy cleaning. Two weeks later, all looking good. Thank you so much.

I couldn’t find out how to remove the oven door and it only opens left-to-right so can’t be laid flat. Nevertheless, the glue worked perfectly and it’s been there several months. The oven gets many hours use each week. This glue is an excellent product.

ovendoorglue: Removal of pull down oven doors is normally quite simple and we have provided a video on the “Advice Page” on how to remove the oven door. Removal of sideways opening doors needs to be tackled carefully. It is usually best to remove screws from the hinge to the door, rather than from the hinge to the oven. this is because there screws to the oven often go into a plate that whilst usually captive, on some ovens can simply fall away, leaving nothing to put the screws back into when you come to refit the door. we provide more advice on how to tackle this in our dispatch email.

Used caustic oven cleaner spray a few times to clean the glass, but it attacked the seal and glue so the glass fell out! Found this kit on line and it really did the trick – securely glued in place and new seal round the edge using black sealant. Quite easy, but you need to take the door off, so you can rest the glass in place horizontally while the glue sets, and make sure the surfaces are all squeaky clean.

I was trying to repair the inner glass panel in my oven door – ie, getting to hold back in place. I found it necessary to pad out the space between the two panels with a phone book to provide some purchase on the panel being glued, and although my inner panel is now being held, I don’t trust the bond sufficiently to apply any degree of pressure when trying to clean it.

ovendoorglue: I am sorry that you were not totally confident in your repair, Martin. Where gluing the inner glass we do recommend removing the door from the oven, and taking off the front fascia panel – a video and instructions for this are on our Advice Page and referred to in the instructions provided with the kit. You can then lay the inner metal door on a table and simply drop the glass onto the adhesive, and the glass cannot move whilst the adhesive cures. Trying to glue the glass panel in the vertical position does cause difficulties in holding the glass in position as the adhesive does not give an instant grab. We are always happy to give advice if any difficulties are encountered.

After fifteen years of very reliable use, one day the glass panel just came unstuck and slipped down inside the oven door. I assumed i would have to buy a new oven door so went searching on-line to discover that my model was no longer available! I then assumed that i would need to buy a new oven. A friend suggested getting some glue to repair the door but i soon discovered it wasn’t possible to purchase this in shops. I found it fairly easily online and also found a you tube video to explain how to fix it. I ordered it, it arrived very promptly and was exactly the item i needed. I now have an oven as good as new and saved a fortune. The only warning i would say, is make sure you measure your door accurately to ascertain exactly how many tubes of glue you will need. I needed a second tube to do the job. Replacing the glass was straightforward and required no more than a screwdriver and a bit of common sense. 🙂

Wife dropped a pan on the our large SMEG oven door – shattered it !. The model was A1.1. I Bought a replacement glass. Got the instruction from elsewhere (Google is your friend). They wanted a ridiculous amount of money for the sealant/glue to stick the replacement and I did not need a massive industrial size tube. Then I came across this Oven Door Glue Kit (actually on eBay). But I bought it directly of this site (less than £6 delivered).
Arrived within a couple days – well packed.
I followed the detailed and clear instructions (together with the replacement glass instructions).
I scrapped off all the old silicon seal completely from the frame – very important to do this. Had some cleaning Alcohol and used it to ensure squeaky clean surface for the new glue/seal.
I applied the glue onto the door frame in a thin bead and placed the new glass perfectly. Let it cure for 24 hours. Perfect robust fit.
That was back in July 2014. It is now Feb 2015 and the door is still as good as new. No issues with at all.

I was annoyed to find the seal on my oven had split in 3 of the four corners in just over a year. A new seal was quite expensive but using tape didn’t work. I used the oven door glue to seal the metal ‘hooks’ in the corners and this solved the problem immediately (after following the instructions provided). Saved me a lot of money and did the job! The kit was sent out straight away.

When our Smeg oven door fell off, Smeg would not supply the tape to fix our door back on instead they wanted me to pay £200 for a new door. I gave the glue a shot and to our suprise it worked. I ordered the kit which was despatched very quickly.This kit was very easy to use , I used it to stick a heat reflective strip to my Smeg oven door which had slipped down.The instructions were easy to follow and after cleaning the inside section of the door applied the adhesive and stuck the new heat strip.Put the door back together and hey presto it’s been O.K. ever since.

The Oven Door Glue Kit is absolutely superb! I purchased a kit and a spare tube to stick the glass of my Stoves induction hob back on after the adhesive pads originally holding it down had come unstuck. It’s been 8 months now since I made the repair and it’s showing no sign of movement despite being used every day. The scraper and wipes included in the kit made easy work of cleaning the old adhesive pads off and I’ve used the scraper for tons of jobs since. Eddie was very helpful when I first contacted Oven Door Glue and provided excellent advice. If anyone else needs to make this type of repair I found it easiest to remove the internal parts from the unit, apply the glue to the frame and then seat the glass whilst the unit was in situ. The frame was in 4 parts and removing it from the base would have made it near impossible to fit to the glass correctly and would have damaged the rubber seal. The next day the glue had cured enough to remove the unit and remove the glass by unscrewing the frame from the base to refit the internals. A check at this point proved that the glue was already doing a better job than the adhesive pads as the frame was very firmly secured. Many thanks to all at Oven Door Glue, if it wasn’t for your product my much loved hob would have been in the skip and I’d be a down the cost of a new one!

This is an excellent product. Everything was supplied in the kit. My glass door had separated from the metal hinge and could not be replaced under a service contract as the cooker is obsolete. Using just a screwdriver I was able to remove the door, clean it with the materials supplied with this kit and effect the repair. It took 25 hours in total – 1 hour to do the job and 24 hours until the glue dried! Brilliant.

My oven door has long leaked heat – enough to melt the edge of the adjacent kitchen door and scorch the cooker enamel brown in places. Replacing the seal had no effect, so I thought I’d try sticking thin metal strips to the back on the door to try and seal the gap. I was dubious when I received this -it looks and smells exactly like normal silicone sealant but it held the metal to the glass and hasn’t melted or given off fumes even with the oven full on for a couple of hours. Well worthwhile.

This product does exactly what it says and I used it to repaid my oven door by sticking a bit of metal surround back onto the glass. It was easy to use and very effective. I was also able to use it to fix the front vent on my wife’s hair dryer so save the excess as you never know what you can fix with it next.

The oven door seal was not available, and a universal kit (ie does not fit anything properly) did not grip the corner pieces and kept slipping off. Saw this door glue kit and ordered one.
The silicone syringe worked well and I was able to inject the silicone inside the hole in the door seal to fix it to the metal corners, once this had set I put the seal in place and ran a line of silicone the length of the seal on all sides. So far (a few months) it has remained firmly stuck to the oven door. And I used what was left to repair my wifes boots!

Very annoyed that the door glass parted company with the oven . Very shoddy considering the price of the thing – £500 +. I was sceptical about this Oven Door Glue Kit – why would their glue be better than the stuff used by the manufacturers ? I needn’t have worried . It’s been repaired for months now and even giving it a ( really good ) tug doesn’t have any effect . 1 kit was JUST enough but if I had to do it again on a ( different) similar-sized oven I’d buy two for immediate peace of mind . My oven door seal failed some time ago. I was told that spares were unobtainable and, faced with the prospect of having a new oven fitted, I decided to buy the nearest rubber seal that I could find and try to make it fit. The clips and fixings were totally different and I was on the point of giving up when I tried a final desperate ‘surf’. I came up with Oven Door Glue and phoned the company to see if the product was suitable. I was given guidance on the phone and placed my order. The pack came swiftly with full instructions and I fitted the seal to the oven front using the glue. I was skeptical that anything that got up to 230 degrees C with enamelled metal on one side and flexible rubber on the other, could be satisfactorily bonded with anything. The expansion and contraction rates are different for both surfaces, for example. How would the glue stand up to the stresses? I used a fine abrasive paper to strip deposits/grease away from the enamelled metal and cleaned it with the solvent sent in the kit. The abrasive gave the glue a key onto the enamel. I squeezed a bead of glue onto the enamel and placed the seal onto it, making sure that I did not let the glue dry. The glue held the seal, even around tight radius corners. I could feel the glue ‘curing’ as I applied my bits of masking tape every inch or so, to hold the seal in place. I let the glue cure with the oven door open and allowed a little longer than the instructions say, just to maximise my chances. I removed the tape and lit the oven for a trial. I fitted the seal in June 2013. I checked the seal minutes before writing this (Jan 2014) and all is well, even at the hottest (top) part of the oven. I am still amazed that enamelled metal and rubber can be bonded successfully. I can only think that the glue retains some ‘give’ whilst forming a strong bond to different materials – very impressive! “A good job and a cheap ‘un”, as they say!

The product was great value, easy to use and did exactly what I needed it to – re-attach a door seal which couldn’t be replaced as no longer made and universal seals were unsuitable.

More importantly, the customer service was excellent. It’s not immediately apparent from the website, but this is a family run business and they really put customer service first. I needed to phone for next day delivery and couldn’t get through, but Eddie returned my call within 10-15 minutes. Subsequently there was a problem with my order and I e-mailed Eddie on Christmas Day not expecting a reply for a few days at least. Instead, he investigated the issue immediately and got back to me that day, and sent a new kit out as soon as the post offices were open again.

I was a little apprehensive ordering from an unknown website, but the customer service was well above what I’d expect from any of the well known retailers, and I’m more than happy to recommend.

I purchased the door adhesive kit in September 2012 after searching the web. The purchase arrived on time with no hassle at all. The instructions are clear and simple to follow, I purchased the extra tube version just in case I ran out of adhesive half way through! The problem I had was with the original adhesive on the Baumatic cooker having come away and seperating the stainless steel sheet covering the bottom third of the outer of the glass oven door. I tried Evostick (no chance!), Having taken the door off completely (very easy to do) and scraping off any residue from both surfaces I applied the new adhesive to the surface as described in the instructions and clamped the glass door panel and stainless steel frontage using wooden batten and g-clamps, just to give it a bit off extra bond strength and left it overnight. The following morning I took the clamps off and inspected the seal (perfect). After refitting the door to the cooker the real test of course is to find out how the adhesive reacts when the cooker is actually on, the door does get extremely hot when the oven is used. No problems at all! I fixed this door in September 2012 and 9 months later and hundreds of oven uses later the seal is still as good as new! I cannot recommend this stuff highly enough when you consider these days of product claims which are highly inflated and don’t actually do the job they’re supposed to it was a pleasure to receive something which actually did exactly what the sellers claimed it would! Solid product with a solid result!

Glued new front custom cut heat rated glass via a local glazier to the stainless steel bezel / door frame of my Baumatic double oven, as new glass door was no longer available from the manufacture. The trick was to ensure that the old adhesive from the previous broken glass was thoroughly cleaned (i.e back to bare metal), surface preparation is key to any adhesive, this oven glue being no different. Once the glue had dried there was no doubt in my mind that it was a good bond, which has not failed after 10 months of constant daily use with typical 200 -240 degree oven cooking temperatures. Being the outer door skin, the glass/frame does not get as hot as the inner glass. Very impressed with this glue, no lasting strong odours, easy to apply and good price for a lasting repair. I highly recommended this glue.

1. Baumatic. Stuck the front face of the oven-heating-up lamp back on, situated above the main oven door, where it had cracked off due to heat exposure every time the door opened.
6 mths later, still good !
2. Neff. Stuck the lower horizontal rubber surround to the metal edge of the lower oven door to avoid it flapping about on closing. Success!
3. Neff. Stuck 2 of the little rubber feet onto the underside of the cast iron support running around 2 burners on the oven top. THere they have stayed!

For most ovens this is a relatively simple task that will take just a minute. We provide a video that covers four of the most common hinge types and how to remove the door which can be viewed at https://ovendoorglue.co.uk/fix-oven-door-glass/. If you find that your hinge is not covered in the video, you are welcome to contact us for further advice – we will normally ask you to email us a photo of the hinge. Performed this fix my self and 9 months later my glass is still attached to the oven door. Glue is little difficult to apply evenly (plan and take your time) and will smell like salt and vinegar chips from your chipper seriously. Must be the chemicals in the glue. ovendoorglue: In the instructions we do advise that there will be a vinegar smell whilst the adhesive is curing. The smell will disappear completely once the adhesive has cured, we recommend allowing 24 hours for the adhesive to cure fully before using the oven. The adhesive, once cured, is completely odourless and will not taint food etc.

i purchased this glue as the catch on my oven door had come off, this was delivered within a few days and easy instructions i used it right away this worked for a few months but i had to reglue twice ( within a year) and now i went to glue it again and unfortunatly the glue has dried up! was great when it worked maybe not strong enough for the catch on the door?

We do expect the adhesive to give a long term repair which is why we often contact people 6 months or so after their purchase and ask them to leave a review.

Whilst your particular use is not really what the kit is for, and it would be more usual for the catch to be held by screws due to the impact as the door is opened and closed, we are always pleased to have feedback where a more unusual repair has been tried as it helps us in providing guidance to future customers.

After searching ‘oven door adhesives’ on the Internet, I was pleased when ovendoorglue came up, I really thought I was going to have to buy a new oven as the glass door was literally hanging on by a thread!! The glue for the glass panel worked brilliantly, it was simple to do, just took a bit of time to clean of the existing adhesive but 9 months on the glass panel on my oven door is still stuck fast even though my other half has a terrible habit of banging the oven door shut whenever he’s cooking, when I have wondered if the glass would in hold? but no the glue is doing it’s job very well. It was a bit smelly when it was drying out once I’d applied the glue and was waiting for it to dry, it stunk the whole kitchen out with the smell of vinegar for about 2 days but it was delivered promptly, easy to do and a very cheap alternative to a new oven/oven door. In all 5 stars!

I was really impressed with how strong the glue was. I made a mistake first time round (dont even ask !) so was left with left than half of the glue for the second attempt.

I would certainly purchase the Over Door Kit again if I ever had a similar problem…. well worth the money !

First of all the on-line chat help was excellent, lots of advice and assistance. The actual product did as it said on the tin, the glass is securely glued in place and the process was easy. The inner glass had come away from the oven door, so the oven was losing most of its heat and the outer door was getting too hot. Followed instructions that came with the kit and everything restored to as new! Make sure you the take time to remove all the old glue with the blade provided. Its messy but makes all the difference.

Good morning
I am writing to let you know that your glue arrived and at the weekend I had a go at gluing my oven door back on.

Basically, Im a 57 year old woman living with my daughter, no man to help out with this sort of thing and not much money. When the glass in my oven door fell out, just before Christmas as well, I was horrified.

The glass wasnt broken so I thought I would check out the internet to see if some glue could be found. First of all imagine my surprise to find there was actually a company called Oven Door Glue !!! and secondly to find that this company produced not only the glue but a “kit” and at an amazingly reasonable price. ! With filmed instructions no less! Too good to be true?

This weekend I followed the instructions and, amazingly, took off the door, glued the glass back in and reattached the door successfully! I tested this by successfully cooking a chicken.

To say I am happy is an understatement!

You guys deserve a huge amount of praise for delivering the product, service and customer care that is sadly lacking in todays commercial endeavours. Particularly at such a great price.

I cannot express enough how impressed and pleased I am at the service and the results from your company.

Not only that – I feel like superwoman having fixed the cooker myself.

Seal around glass was broken so it had come away in part from the oven door. After watching the online tutorial and seeing how easy it was to remove the oven door I purchased your oven glue kit and had a go. It was very easy to use, cheap in comparison to a new door and satisfying to have fixed it myself
